Associate Marriage & Family Therapist #116884

Julie Crist

Welcome to the Monterey Counseling Center. I seek to provide a place where clients feel safe to explore areas in their life where they desire healing and change.  In a world of demands, we all need to take the time to care for ourselves.  This includes being equipped with the tools and support needed to achieve goals and a fuller life and it is my job to partner with you in this process.  I draw from my life experiences and career paths that apply to my work as therapist.
Due to my journey and rich exposure to multicultural, diversity experiences: I can effectively serve culturally diverse, and at risk populations.  I am here to help you heal, explore, and discover a full healthier you.
I graduated from San Jose Western Seminary with a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology.  I have a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and Marketing from San Diego State University.  I completed my internship at Discovery Counseling Center in Morgan Hill.
I believe in an integrated approach to therapy that is tailored to help meet the needs of clients based on their individual experiences.  I also have a compassion for teaching individuals how to connect, communicate, utilize resources, and build and restore relationships. With that said, I have been trained in a variety of modalities including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused, Person Centered, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, and many others.
I am a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), and California Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (CAMFT).  Volunteer experience working with teenagers and young adults.
